More than 330,000 visitors have flocked to vote.gov following Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris, according to the General Services Administration (GSA). As of 2 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, the GSA confirmed that 337,826 visitors had accessed the voter information website through Swift’s custom link, less than 24 hours after the presidential debate between Harris and former President Donald Trump.
Swift, a 14-time Grammy award-winner, posted her highly anticipated endorsement on Instagram—where she boasts 283 million followers—immediately after the debate. In her post, Swift said she plans to vote for Harris “because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them” and emphasized that the country should be “led by calm and not chaos.”
The pop superstar also addressed fake images that had circulated online, some of which had been shared by Trump, falsely claiming she supported the Republican nominee. Swift humorously signed off her post as a “childless cat lady,” a jab at Trump running mate Sen. JD Vance’s controversial comments about Harris and other Democrats.
“I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice,” Swift wrote in the post. “Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make. I also want to say, especially to first-time voters: Remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered!”

Swift’s Influence on Voter Engagement
Swift's endorsement has spurred a massive response, particularly among younger voters, who are expected to play a pivotal role in the upcoming election. Harris has already started fundraising off the endorsement, while Trump dismissed the singer’s influence, claiming Swift might “pay a price for it in the marketplace.” Meanwhile, Vance downplayed the potential impact.
Speculation surrounding whether Swift would weigh in on the 2024 race had been circulating for months. The “Miss Americana” star has previously endorsed Democrats, including in the 2018 midterms and the 2020 Biden-Harris ticket. She has also expressed regret for not speaking out during the 2016 election, which saw Trump win the presidency.
Vote.gov and Swift's History of Voter Advocacy
While vote.gov provides comprehensive information on voter rights, requirements, and registration, it does not directly register voters. In the past, Swift has directed her followers to Vote.org, a nonprofit organization that she helped drive record traffic to during previous election cycles.
With her massive influence and strong political stance, Swift continues to engage young voters, encouraging them to research, register, and participate in the electoral process.
