Following the halt of humanitarian aid deliveries to the Gaza Strip, Israel has also decided to stop supplying electricity to the affected region. This announcement was made by Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen on Sunday.
Minister Cohen stated that this move is intended to apply pressure on Hamas, the Palestinian Islamist organization currently holding numerous hostages. He emphasized the need for decisive action:
"Enough talk, it's time for action."
In a video message, Cohen confirmed: "We will use all means at our disposal to ensure that all hostages are returned and we will ensure that Hamas is no longer in Gaza the day after."
