‘Multiple teams’ interested in trading for Panthers QB Teddy Bridgewater

The Carolina Panthers after trading for former Jets starter, Sam Darnold, is now allowing Bridgewater to seek a trade. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, reported that “multiple teams” are interested. Likely possible targets would be the Chicago Bears, who may have one of the worst QB rooms in the NFL (Andy Dalton and Nick Foles) and no clear path to getting better from the 20th pick in the draft. The Broncos are also a obvious location as Drew Lock hasn't given them any reason to believe that he is the long term answer at QB. Bridgewater could at least push Lock who is entering what is likely a make or break season for him.

The main thing that could prevent a trade from happening is Bridgewater's contract. While both the Bears and Broncos have coaches that are likely on the hot seat, and an obvious need at the position taking on Bridgewater's 17 million dollar base salary is very unlikely. But it is not out of the question that Bridgewater knowing the Panthers have seemingly moved on and he could reasonable be a starter for another team would agree to take a salary cut if it facilitated the trade.
